Botanical Note: Alpine Juniper (Juniperus communis subsp. alpina) is recognized as a synonym of Juniperus communis var. saxatilis according to World Flora Online.

Aromatic: Clean and enlivening with a mild, turpentine-like brightness layered over woody, camphoraceous tones. Subtle fruity and citrus-zest nuances soften the profile, unfolding into a gently sweet, wood-citrus drydown. Used as a top-to-middle note in natural perfumery, it shines in fresh colognes, forest and woody bases, diffusers, and room sprays—especially those crafted to clear stagnant or heavy atmospheres.

Energetic: A clarifier and protector. Encourages courage, cuts through fear-based illusions of the mind, disperses negative energy, and fortifies the energetic field with steady strength.

Traditional: The berries were traditionally used to support digestion, urinary health, perspiration, and to address diarrhea and venereal disease. Needles were prepared as antiseptic washes and burned to cleanse and purify the air.

Ecology & Harvest: Alpine Juniper takes root at elevations around 8,000 feet, thriving in mountain regions across the globe. Rarely growing taller than ten feet, it lives humbly beneath towering aspens and conifers, spending much of its life wrapped in snow. Its ripe blue cones are richly flavorful. Distillation follows the plant’s natural rhythm and is possible only from spring through early winter, giving the oil its subtle, seasonal ebb and flow.
